We are thrilled to return to The Great Hall for the most exciting live arts event in the city. Art Battle is now entering our 3rd year and we couldn't be more proud of all the talent and courage that we've seen in our first 2 years. We can't wait to meet more amazing painters and see the return of many artists who have already dazzled our audiences with their skill. Painter info: Rounds are 20 minutes in length and the medium is acrylic. Art Battle supplies all paint and canvas, you may bring your own brushes/tools (please put your name/mark on them). No mechanical tools or extra mediums are allowed (no markers, charcoal, ink etc). We will also draw 6 painters from the door registration. What is Art Battle? Art Battle is live competitive painting. A record crowd showed up on Tuesday to watch, cheer, vote and bid for the most accomplished field of competitive painters ever assembled. Sixteen champion and all-star painters battled it out in 2 intense rounds, each hoping to gain a spot in the final match of the evening. Tough decision for the audience with so much talent on display! The 4 painters who advanced to the final: - Dave Sheppard, a finalist from AB14, this time his first round painting set an Art Battle bid record, selling for over $500. - Ginger Jarvis, a dramatic last minute sub for an absent Champ, she made the most of her moment, getting into the final for the first time since AB6. - Jacqueline Poirier, the AB10 Champ, she also advanced to the final of AB15. - Chen Cao, was looking strong with a 3 match winning streak, including defeating Jacqueline 4 weeks earlier for the AB15 title. In the final, after 20 minutes of stunning work and a couple broken brushes, the audience voted Jacqueline Poirier's deep and beautiful landscape as the best painting of the final. Congratulations Jacqueline, you are the Champion of Champions, and we couldn't be more proud!
